ant eaters,
monkeys, moving skies,
iguanas, birds,
squirrels, trees,
doves, tigers, a strong breeze,
pigeons, vultures,
herons and humming birds
butterflies, quails
sun and rain,
the turtles walk
step by step
swims the sloth
at sunrise, sunset
the wind sets free
the bats at night
don't want to sleep
the sea, two seas
the tico land
the story, history
the quakers' land
good people, ticos
kind care givers
of land soil
of mother earth
the palm trees, ferns
and water drops
that form the waterfall
where I'll go last
to bathe and swim
and feel alive . . .

I don't know why, but the butterfly scared me. Beautiful poem Ms Florez!
ReplyDeleteHola Sra.

ReplyDeleteDid you hold any of the cockroaches?
ReplyDeleteNo, Karl, I did not hold any of the cockroaches but I did see a giant one! It was bigger than any I had ever seen! Only that I cannot find the picture I took. I tthink it's in my phone. We'll check when I get home. Thank you for checking my blog. .

ReplyDeleteHola Sra. Florez! Estas fotos son muy hermosas. Nunca he visto una polilla que grande! Probablemente vistes muchos animales interesantes.
You took a lot of really pretty pictures. ¿Te gustó el paisaje? ¿Cómo era el clima? I bet it is a lot warmer there than it is here!
